Business Development Associate – Outbound & Inbound

Position Description:

Bigbelly Business Development Associates play a critical role in the Bigbelly Sales organization. The Business Development Team is accountable for strategically generating all new business opportunities for the Bigbelly sales team and for driving small to midsize opportunities to close within their territory. The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated, results oriented, professional, and an expert communicator.

This sales quota bearing position is responsible for the entire sales process for Bigbelly’s small to midsize opportunities and for executing strategic lead generation campaigns. Lead generation campaigns are strategically targeted towards potential Bigbelly customers within the assigned territory and consist of cold calls and cold emails. Success in this role will be dependent on one’s ability to build enough interest with potential customers via cold calls and cold emails that the prospect agrees to a sales web presentation. Ideal candidates for this position must be confident and skillful at giving sales presentations and should be able to navigate sales calls with ease. Our sales process requires ability to determine customer pain points and key drivers for adopting our product.

Account Manager

Position Description:

We are looking for an Account Manager, to maintain existing business and nurture long-term growth relationships with our current clients, support business development and sales to onboard new clients and serve as the interface between the customer support and the sales team. The Account Manager will help our clients to understand the full potential of our products while understanding and catering to the features and aspects of our product as each unique customer values them. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with different work groups and departments to improve customer support and enhance customer satisfaction, providing oversight, coordination and execution of problem resolution to ensure customers are fully satisfied with our products and services. In this role, you should be an excellent communicator able to grasp customer needs and brainstorm ways to fulfill them.

Responsibilities:

The Account Manager will assist the company to safeguard our revenue and retain our customers through alerting the sales team to opportunities for further sales within key clients; through letting customers know about other products the company offers, attending meetings with clients to build relationships with existing accounts and addressing customer concerns and complaints. This role will manage and develop customer accounts to initiate and maintain favorable relationships with clients and liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs.

  • Keep current clients satisfied through delivery of exceptional client service on a day-to-day basis

Mechanical Engineer

Position Description:

Bigbelly is the world leader in Public Space Waste Solutions.  Bigbelly products are designed to dramatically increase the operational efficiency for our customers while beautifying their public space in a way that produces measurable reductions to our customer’s carbon footprint. The Bigbelly solution leverages smart technologies, such as IoT, along with new and traditional manufacturing and materials.

We are looking to add a creative, self-starting mechanical engineer to our current team.  This position is based in our Needham, MA office and offers the option of working remotely a few days of the week.  Ideally, you have experience in design for manufacturing on products using sheet metal and molded plastics and have a proven track record of working closely with contract manufacturers to successfully launch new products.

This role plays a critical part of Bigbelly’s strategy of working with Tier 1 manufacturing partners for our new product launches and continuous refinement of existing products.  This position does require some domestic and international travel.

Bigbelly has an exciting development roadmap for expanding our current capabilities on both the smart physical hardware and our integrated digital media platform.  This position plays a critical role in executing that plan.

You need to be as comfortable working in a SolidWorks CAD mechanical design environment as you are working with actual prototype parts in an Engineering Lab environment.  This position will require you to work hands-on with prototypes and conduct extensive testing of new ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product development projects from concept to detailed design to tested prototypes to successful production launch
  • Drive cost reduction through new design and new manufacturing techniques
  • Increase product reliability by diagnosing issues and designing robust solutions
  • Improve manufacturing documentation through collaborative effort with Tier 1 manufacturing partner

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in product design, specifically in mechanical design and manufacturing (required)

UI/UX Software Developer

Position Description:

We are looking to add a UI/UX Front End Developer to our software development team in Needham, MA. Bigbelly provides the option for hybrid in-office / home, but you must be willing to commit to working in person at the office partially during the week.

This is a technical role for an individual contributor; You must have UI/UX experience defining web applications (mobile application development is also desirable), along with a proven history of working as technical contributor, writing front end code, for web applications.

Bigbelly has an exciting development roadmap for expanding our current capabilities on both the web and mobile application portions of our product.

In this role you will be examining existing products and helping develop new products with the goal of providing modern, intuitive and user-friendly digital tools for our customers and service providers.

You need to be able to thrive in a small team environment, able to help define, prototype, demonstrate, develop and test.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and extend Bigbelly’s web application, written with JSP, JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS, jQuery, and HTML5
  • Explore new front end development techniques and technologies to help inform and set the direction for the software team’s future work
  • Storyboard, prototype, and present UI/UX concepts for Bigbelly’s web and native mobile apps
  • Work directly with Bigbelly’s external software contractors, and occasionally with customers and distributors
  • Document your designs and code using state diagrams, flowcharts, and other techniques
  • Define and implement products from engineering specifications, validation plans, and other internal processes

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of a proven track record developing and executing user experiences using JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS, jQuery, and HTML5 (required)
  • Ability to interpret legacy code and modify accordingly (required)

European Channel Manager

Position Description:

The primary responsibilities of the European Channel Manager will be to assist Bigbelly’s International distribution partners in the European region in maintaining and growing their existing accounts, leverage partner relationships to drive new business and to expand the distribution partner network. This roll will combine both sales, and account management mentality, as this position places strong emphasis on maintaining existing relationships.

The chosen candidate will be tasked with cultivating opportunities with both current and prospective distribution partners through regular business reviews, account strategy assessments and inbound lead transfer and follow up. Working closely with our partners on key tender responses, refining the sales strategy and positioning the Bigbelly offer relative to competitors is key.

The Channel Manager role involves supporting distributors with all aspects of their day-to-day Bigbelly business from product support, order administration and shipping. The Channel Manager has a key coordinating role between Bigbelly HQ departments and the distributor.

In addition to the channel management role candidates will be involved in identifying, developing and closing sales opportunities together with the distributor in specific territories.

  • Ensure opportunities are progressing through the purchasing process through continuous follow-up

Purchasing Generalist I

Position Description:

The Purchasing Generalist will assist in researching and purchasing material, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization for use in manufacturing and other business applications. Purchasing Generalist I tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality and maintains a current database of vendor information. The Buyer participates in contract negotiations and ensures that orders include correct quantities and comply with quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
  • Assists in negotiations of contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.
